Fun FactsDid you know in many other countries, including Haiti, soccer is known as football? Makes sense doesn't it?
Haitians have a saying "Deye Mòn gen Mòn". This means "Beyond mountains there are mountains". It's meant in both a literal and figurative way. Haiti literally is a land of mountains beyond mountains. The entire Island is one mountain after another. Haitians also use this saying to indicate that "Beyond problems there are more problems." A sad, but often true sentiment about life in Haiti.

We are learning just how beautiful Haiti really is! The palm trees, sunshine and abundant fresh fruit are amazing! Mangos are a favorite for sure. We love to eat them fresh, freeze them, and put them in our smoothies! Have mom or dad print out this coloring page to color. You can even mail it to us, we love to get letters and coloring pages from friends! |
